Segregation and COVID Vaccination Rates: A Machine Learning Approach

Jared Lewis

Details
DSML Instructor Jared Lewis and prospective resident Michael Gaziani walk us through an internal research project they just completed. They'll provide a hands-on talk about how they implemented Double Lasso with fixed effects, Franks’ sensitivity analysis, and Oster’s sensitivity analysis in Python to explore the effects of Political Segregation on COVID vaccination rates in US counties.
This talk is designed to give people an in-depth overview of how you can use the. tools of machine learning to study social behavior and model complex phenomena.
This is a great overview of contemporary research methods that can be used to understand causality and estimate the impact of different interventions on social behavior.
